Okay so I saw Nightmare on Elm Street with my brother....
Director: Samuel Bayer
Cast: Jackie Earle Haley, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Rooney Mara.
Running Time: 1hr 51min
Rated: R
Genre: Horror/Suspense
Summary: Nancy, Kris, Quentin, Jesse and Dean all live on Elm Street. At night, they're all having the same dream--of the same man, wearing a tattered red and green striped sweater, a beaten fedora half-concealing a disfigured face and a gardener's glove with knives for fingers. And they're all hearing the same frightening voice...
One by one, he terrorizes them within the curved walls of their dreams, where the rules are his, and the only way out is to wake up.
But when one of their number dies a violent death, they soon realize that what happens in their dreams happens for real, and the only way to stay alive is to stay awake. Turning to each other, the four surviving friends try to uncover how they became part of this dark fairytale, hunted by this dark man. Functioning on little to no sleep, they struggle to understand why them, why now, and what their parents aren't telling them.
Buried in their past is a debt that has just come due, and to save themselves, they will have to plunge themselves into the mind of the most twisted nightmare of all... Freddy Krueger.(http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/nightmare_on_elm_street_2010/)
Also on Rotten Tomatoes the Top Critics gave the movie 13% and the T-Meter Critics gave the movie 15%....The Consensus: Visually faithful but lacking the depth and subversive twists that made the original so memorable, the Nightmare on Elm Street remake lives up to its title in the worst possible way. (Rotten Tomatoes)
My View: Okay so here is my point of view on the movie, now I don't know if they will do this in the theaters that you may be at but at the theater that I went to they started off with when you head into the theater they had someone dressed like Freddy in the dark hallway so it would literally scare the crap out of you and get you in that mind frame....Mind you it would have scared me if the girl in front of me didn't scream first....But I wouldn't even go near the guy I went right into the wall....He was scary :)
Now for the movie itself, the over all movie was good....I screamed at all the right places....The acting was good, now I also haven't see the original movie in a really long time so I had forgotten sort of how the story line went....But this one was good don't get me wrong now the only thing that I did not like would have to be how Freddy was done (meaning the special effects make-up) he really didn't look too scary like the original one did (I will post pictures to show you the difference) he was just lacking the wow factor to say....But it diffidently is way more bloodier....Now I don't want to give away the movie yet if you have seen the original I'm sure you know what the movie is about but you have to understand that they did change the story line in this one just a bit....Now I personally like watching scary movies in the theater with a lot of people because of the fact that when people scream its funny cause your not the only one screaming and for when the movie is over if they clap that means that they like it and the people that were in the theater with my brother and I clapped a couple of times threw out the movie (near the end)....So I personally say if its in a theater near you then you should go check it out, but if you want to wait until it comes out on DVD then that's fine too....
What it all boils down to is that you have to be the judge if you want to see the movie or not all you can do is listen (or read) what other people have said about the movie and then see it for yourself....You might be surprised at how your opinion on things could be very different from someone else....
Here is the pictures and I'm also going to post the trailer....

Original Freddy from 1983ish Freddy from 2010

You be the judge on the special effects make-up I personally like the original better than the new version of him....Now here is the trailer for the 2010 version of the movie....
Until Next Time....
